OFFICIAL RULES: Area Scouts January Surprise Giveaway
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. OPEN ONLY TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE 50 UNITED STATES AND D.C., EXCLUDING NEW YORK AND FLORIDA, WHO ARE 18 OR OLDER (19 OR OLDER IN ALABAMA AND NEBRASKA, 21 OR OLDER IN MISSISSIPPI). VOID IN NEW YORK, FLORIDA, AND WHERE PROHIBITED.
This giveaway is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, the National Football League (NFL), any professional sports league, or any team. References to a "big football game" or "championship game" are descriptive only. All league, event, and team names and marks belong to their owners.
By entering, you agree to these Official Rules ("Rules") and to Sponsor's decisions, which are final on all matters relating to the giveaway.
1. Sponsor
The Area Scouts January Surprise Giveaway (the "Giveaway") is sponsored by Beacon Private Equity Group ("Sponsor"), which operates Area Scouts (Area Scouts, a Beacon Private Equity Group company).
2. Eligibility
The Giveaway is open only to individuals who, at the time of entry, are:
- legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia, excluding residents of New York and Florida; and
- 18 years of age or older, and at least the age of majority where they live (19 in Alabama and Nebraska, 21 in Mississippi).
The following people are not eligible:
- employees, officers, and directors of Sponsor and its parent companies, subsidiaries, and affiliates;
- any advertising, promotion, fulfillment, or prize-supplier agency involved in the Giveaway;
- the immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling, and each of their spouses) of any person above, and anyone living in the same household as that person, whether related or not.
Area Scouts licensees, program directors, coaches, and community members are eligible, unless they also fall into one of the groups above.
Void outside the eligible states, in U.S. territories and possessions, and where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.
3. Entry Period
The Giveaway begins on the date these Rules are first published at https://www.areascouts.com/official-rules/, and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on January 15, 2027 (the "Entry Period"). Sponsor's server clock is the official timekeeper.
4. How to Enter
There are two ways to enter. Both are free, and both are treated equally in the drawing.
A. Online, by completing the survey. During the Entry Period, visit https://areascouts.com/ and:
- Complete the Area Scouts community survey. Every required question must be answered before the entry form appears. Optional write-in boxes may be left blank.
- Fill out and submit the entry form with your first and last name, email address, mobile phone number, and state of residence.
- Check the box confirming that you meet the eligibility requirements and agree to these Rules.
A submission without a completed survey is not an entry. The answers are still received, but the person is not entered. What you say in the survey never affects whether you are entered, your odds, or how the winner is selected. Survey answers must be your own honest opinions.
Agreeing to receive marketing calls or text messages is optional and is not required to enter or win. So is agreeing to appear in "recent sign-up" notices.
B. By email, with no purchase and no survey required. Send an email to support@areascouts.com with the subject line "Giveaway Entry". In the body, include your full name, email address, phone number, and state of residence. Email entries must be received by 11:59:59 p.m. ET on January 15, 2027. Send one email only; each email must be sent individually by the entrant. Incomplete, illegible, or automated or bulk-sent emails are void.
Limit: one (1) entry per person and per email address for the whole Entry Period, regardless of entry method. Extra entries void all of that person's entries. Entries made through multiple or false identities or email addresses, or through scripts, bots, or other automated means, are void. If there is a dispute over who submitted an online entry, the entry belongs to the authorized holder of the email account used. That is the person assigned the address by the provider that issued it.
Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, misdirected, or garbled entries (including emails blocked by spam filters or lost in transit), or for technical problems that prevent an entry from being received. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt. Entries will not be acknowledged or returned.
5. Drawing and Odds
On or about January 20, 2027, Sponsor will select one (1) potential winner by random drawing from all eligible entries received during the Entry Period. Online and email entries are combined into one pool. Sponsor conducts the drawing, and its decisions are final. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
6. Prize
One (1) Grand Prize: four (4) tickets to a professional football championship game to be played in February 2027 (the "Event"). Seat locations are chosen by Sponsor or the ticket source. Ticket value varies with market conditions.
Not included: travel, airfare, lodging, ground transportation, parking, meals, spending money, and all other expenses. These are the winner's responsibility.
Ticket terms. Tickets are subject to the ticket issuer's terms and the venue's rules, which may restrict transfer and resale. The winner and guests must follow those terms and rules, including any identification requirements. The winner may bring up to three (3) guests. A guest who is a minor must be accompanied at the Event by a parent or legal guardian.
Substitution and cash alternative. The prize may not be transferred, sold, or exchanged for cash by the winner. However, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, substitute a prize or cash of comparable value if any of the following happens:
- the tickets cannot be obtained, awarded, or transferred for any reason (including ticket-issuer terms);
- the winner cannot be confirmed in time to deliver the tickets before the Event; or
- the Event is canceled, or is played without spectators.
If the Event is postponed, the prize is tickets to the rescheduled Event if the ticket issuer honors them. Otherwise Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, substitute a prize or cash of comparable value. Dates, times, and ticket delivery are controlled by third parties. Sponsor is not responsible for changes to the Event.
Taxes. The winner is responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes on the prize (or its cash alternative). Sponsor will issue an IRS Form 1099 for the value of the prize (or cash) awarded. The winner must provide a completed IRS Form W-9 (including a valid Social Security or taxpayer ID number) before the prize is awarded.
The prize is awarded "as is," with no warranty from Sponsor. No more than one (1) Grand Prize will be awarded.
7. Winner Notification and Verification
Sponsor will try to contact the potential winner by email and/or phone within two (2) business days after the drawing. The potential winner must respond within five (5) days of the first notification attempt. Within seven (7) days of receiving them, the potential winner must sign and return:
- an Affidavit of Eligibility;
- a Liability Release and (where lawful) a Publicity Release;
- IRS Form W-9.
Each guest must sign a liability and (where lawful) publicity release before tickets are delivered. A parent or guardian signs for a minor guest.
The potential winner forfeits the prize and an alternate may be drawn from the remaining eligible entries, time permitting, if the potential winner:
- does not respond or return the documents on time;
- cannot be reached, or the notice comes back undeliverable;
- is found ineligible; or
- does not follow these Rules.
Up to three (3) alternates may be drawn. After that, the prize may go unawarded. Sponsor may verify age, identity, and residency.
8. Publicity
Except where prohibited by law, the winner agrees that Sponsor may use their first name, last initial, city, and state to announce the winner, on a winner list and in Giveaway-related promotion, without further payment or approval. Sponsor will not publish the winner's full address, email, or phone number.
9. General Conditions
Sponsor may disqualify anyone who:
- tampers with the entry process, the survey, or the website;
- enters fraudulently or with false information;
- violates these Rules; or
- behaves in a disruptive, abusive, or harassing way.
If fraud, technical failure, a virus, unauthorized intervention, or any other cause beyond Sponsor's reasonable control harms the fairness or proper operation of the Giveaway, Sponsor may cancel, modify, or suspend it, as permitted by law. In that case Sponsor will select the winner from eligible entries received before the problem, as far as feasible.
Sponsor may correct typographical or clerical errors in these Rules. It will not make changes that materially affect entrants' chances. If Sponsor does not enforce any part of these Rules, that does not waive it.
Warning: Deliberately trying to damage a website or interfere with how the Giveaway runs may break criminal and civil laws. If that happens, Sponsor may pursue damages and other remedies as far as the law allows.
10. Release, Indemnity, and Limitation of Liability
Release and indemnity. By entering, you release and agree to hold harmless Sponsor, Area Scouts, their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, service providers, prize suppliers, and advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their officers, directors, employees, and agents (the "Released Parties"). The release covers any claim, injury, loss, or damage of any kind arising out of or relating to:
- your entry or participation in the Giveaway;
- your acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of the prize;
- any travel or activity related to the prize, including attending the Event.
This includes personal injury, death, property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy. You also agree to indemnify the Released Parties against claims arising from your breach of these Rules.
Things the Released Parties are not responsible for:
- incorrect or inaccurate entry information;
- technical, network, hardware, software, or email failures;
- unauthorized human intervention;
- errors in administering the Giveaway or processing entries;
- any error that wrongly indicates someone has won.
Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- the Released Parties will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages;
- any recovery is limited to your actual out-of-pocket costs of entering (if any), and in no event includes attorneys' fees.
Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
11. Disputes and Governing Law
These Rules and the Giveaway are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Except where prohibited by law, you agree that:
- any dispute arising out of or relating to the Giveaway will be resolved individually, without any class action;
- the dispute will be heard only in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida, and you consent to those courts' personal jurisdiction;
- each party waives trial by jury to the extent permitted by law.
12. Privacy
Information you submit is collected by Sponsor and used under the Area Scouts Privacy Policy at https://areascouts.com/area-scouts-privacy-policy/.
- Calls and texts: these are sent only to entrants who separately and optionally agreed to receive them. That consent is not a condition of entry. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
- "Recent sign-up" notices (optional, 18+ only, only if offered on the entry form):
- If the entry form offers it, entrants may also agree to have their first name, last initial, state, and chosen role title shown in brief "recent sign-up" notices on Area Scouts websites.
- That consent is not a condition of entry and has no effect on eligibility or odds.
- Notices appear no sooner than one hour after entry and for no more than seven (7) days.
- Notices are screened automatically for approved role titles, name format, and offensive language, and entries that fail are never shown.
- Full last name, email, phone number, and winner status are never shown.
- You may withdraw display consent at any time by contacting Sponsor.
